For 48 years our priority has been providing excellent care to the residents of Shaker Place. We are a licensed, fully staffed, skilled nursing facility offering the best in the medical services and residential care. We offer quality programs including but not limited to: skilled nursing and long-term care services, rehabilitation therapies, and memory care services. Whether you or your loved one requires a short or long-term stay the staff at Shaker Place will provide the very best in care.

Owned by Albany County, Shaker Place has recently undergone an $80 million renovation project. Spanning 2017-2020, this celebrated modernization project boasts an additional 77,000 square feet, featuring new facilities including an expansion of the common areas, private rooms accessible on the ground floor, and energy efficient equipment and lighting. The renovation has also allowed us to make everyday life for our residents even more comfortable and convenient, with state-of-the-art features like: eight culinary country kitchens and adjacent dining rooms available in each residential wing; a serene courtyard and garden with sound-system and walking paths; a rehabilitation gymnasium and fitness center with the latest equipment; spa rooms with private showers and therapy tubs; and a 24-hour security system. Recognized for our commitment to improving services and providing the very best in care for our residents, in October 2018 Shaker Place received the 2018 Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). Shaker Place was one of only four recipients throughout the State of New York.

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a progressive, three-step process that encourages the continuous learning, development, and execution of integrated quality systems to achieve performance excellence. Each progressive step requires a more detailed and comprehensive demonstration of quality integration and performance. The criteria for each step is based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.

Bronze—Commitment to Quality Award—applicants that receive the Bronze Award are able to describe their mission, characteristics, and key challenges and to recognize the relationship of these factors to their ability to achieve performance improvement. The Bronze Award recognizes the provider for developing a foundation to begin a journey of continuous quality improvement, and does not necessarily correspond to any public measure of performance.
