Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is proud to be recognized as Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes in 2022! This is a huge testament to our hard-working staff, residents, and residents’ families who’ve worked diligently over the past year to keep our most vulnerable population safe while offering excellent and reliable quality care.
We’re extremely proud to receive this highest ranking among our peers from 25 states and 450 top facilities. We know it’s never easy trusting the care of your loved one to someone else, but we’re humbled each day knowing that we’re taking the right strides forward to create a truly unique and tailored experience for our residents and their families. It’s an honor to see how our priority to provide a calm, safe and uplifting environment is recognized and reflected in this achievement.
This year’s ranking in Newsweek identifies the nation’s top nursing homes based on three critical criteria: overall performance data, peer recommendations and each facility’s handling of COVID-19. Newsweek and Statista designed a rigorous methodology that provided a score for every evaluated nursing home, and the scores were based on three key indicators:
- Performance Data: The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provides monthly performance data for each nursing home according to health inspections, quality measures, and staffing.
- Reputation Survey: In cooperation with Newsweek, Statista invited over 10,000 medical experts — including registered nurses, nursing home managers and administrators, nursing home assistants, therapists, and physicians — to complete an online survey that assessed nursing homes.
- COV1D-19 Response: Each nursing home’s response to the pandemic was evaluated according to its Resident Impact Survey, Facility Capacity, Staff & Personnel, Supplies & Personal Protective Equipment, and Vaccination Rates of Residents.
This recognition as one of Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes in 2022 is a huge accomplishment, considering the goal of this ranking is to help individuals and families, make an informed decision and lighten the burden of choosing a safe and considerate place for their loved ones.
