Owned by Albany County, Shaker Place has recently undergone an $80 million renovation project. Spanning 2017-2020, the project includes the addition of 77,000 square feet, and features new facilities including an expansion of the common areas, private rooms accessible on the ground floor, and energy efficient equipment and lighting.
The renovation has also allowed us to make everyday life for our residents even more comfortable and convenient. The facility offers high quality rehabilitation and therapy services, nutritional programs developed and overseen by registered dietitians, recreational activities, social, clinical and psychological services, staff physicians, spiritual care and volunteer programs, as well as the daily amenities such as housekeeping and laundry service.
The renovation has given residents the new home they deserve. Those living at Shaker Place will enjoy dining at the country kitchens, walking through the new courtyards, and socializing with friends in the expanded common areas. A rehabilitation gymnasium and fitness center with the latest equipment; spa rooms with private showers and therapy tubs; and a 24-hour security system allow us to give a level of care that is above and beyond.
