Jen is a rock star! She is a tireless advocate and is always working with insurance companies to secure continuation coverage for our residents. She goes the extra mile and doesn’t like to take “no” for an answer, which is why she’s often so successful. The process can be extremely frustrating, but she gets it done.

Byrdie always takes time to connect with residents and staff. She is able to sense if someone is struggling and is there to open a door or lend a hand. Any question or request is met with consideration and she does it all with a lovely smile and thanks everyone for their time. Byrdie’s positive reinforcement, tireless work ethic and gentle, optimistic attitude makes her the best example of a Shaker Star. We truly believe the world would be a kinder place if everyone had a Byrdie of their own.

Clifton is one of the hardest working staff members. Cliff starts of his day as an environmental service worker and then steps into a phone booth and emerges as Chef Cliff. He is tireless, but what makes him stand out is the level of care he puts into each meal. He truly cares about our residents and the food they eat. He never complains and is always willing to mentor and help others.

Margaret was recently recognized by a family member, following the passing of a loved one. The family went out of their way to thank Margaret for the truly compassionate care she provided. They wanted everyone to know that Margaret not only gave their loved one dignity, respect and compassion, but that extended to the entire family as well. Shaker Place is lucky to have her.

Nikiah recently transferred to the Meacham Unit. She has a positive attitude and applies a person-centered approach when providing care. She has developed a positive rapport with all the residents and we are thankful she joined our team! -
Keith Smith

Keith went above and beyond to personally set up, plan, and make an amazing spread of food for his coworkers and employees for the annual tailgate party. He went out of his way to make sure the dietary needs of his coworkers were considered and took the time to describe any allergens contained in each dish. Keith’s passion and work ethic shows great appreciation for everyone on our team and we are lucky to have him! -
Nicola Disant

Nicola is a CNA and has been at Shaker Place for more than 3 years. She always arrives to Wright unit with a positive attitude and exudes positivity throughout the day. She is helpful to her colleagues as well as the nursing team. She is always punctual and walks through the door with a bright smile and a jovial ‘good morning’ which truly helps set the tone for the day! Her willingness to continually help, assist, and educate new staff does not go unnoticed.

Claudia Harper

Claudia works on the Buckingham unit and was the first Buckingham employee to complete a new training course offered by the Alzheimer’s Association. She took the time to do this on her own time. While Claudia scored in the 90’s on her course exam, she still followed up with our Director of Nursing wanting to improve her score and understanding of Alzheimer’s. We are so grateful Claudia is on our team! -
Allison Agneta

Allison is always engaged not only with our residents, but with other staff members. She is always the first to step up when extra help is needed to make sure our residents are taken care of in the best manor possible. To have a staff member truly care about out department and our residents is truly a gift. In the 5 years Allison has been part of the team she has gained the respect of all who come in contact with her, and she has been instrumental in the level of care we provide daily for our residents. Always smiling, always ready to help those who need help, always volunteering to stay late if needed, and she does it with a smile! -

Amie Bennett

Amie goes above and beyond her work responsibilities to care for the residents and families of Shaker Place. She is one of the first people in the building every morning and one of the last to leave. She is someone who our staff looks up to and she never says no to helping others when needed. She never looks to be recognized for her efforts and goes above and beyond naturally because she is someone who puts others before herself and has a kind heart. If Amie is having a bad day, she goes down to the memory care unit and spends additional time with the residents. Caring for others and making a difference in someone’s life is what makes Amie happy. She has made a difference to Shaker Place and we can’t thank her enough. We recognize your hard work and we appreciate everything you do.
