Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Salary: $99,500/annually; $47.84/hour

Schedule: Full-time - Day Shift | Monday-Friday

Location: 100 Heritage Lane, Albany, NY 12211

The Assistant Director of Nursing provides supervision and guidance to nurse managers, as well as resident assessment and completion of all associated paperwork required by state and federal regulations governing the resident assessment process. The incumbent must be knowledgeable in data collection, data analysis methodology, and performance improvement methods needed to support and lead performance improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Instructs and assists nursing staff on nursing problems, and ward management and related activities.
  • Coordinates the services rendered by other departments in the interest effective management and patient services.
  • Confers with medical staff in providing for adequate nursing services.
  • Assists in formulation and execution of policies and procedures governing the nursing services.
  • Acts as Director of Nursing Service in her absence.
  • Promotes and maintains good relationships with patients, relatives, and friends.
  • Visits patients as necessary and supervises to maintain high standards of service.
  • Supervises the keeping of good records and submits a variety of reports on nursing service.
  • Prepares and keeps a variety of reports and records.

Qualifications:

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and four (4) years of experience in professional nursing activities, two (2) of which were in a supervisory capacity.

OR

Graduation from an approved three (3) year school of nursing and five (5) years of experience in professional nursing activities, two (2) of which were in a supervisory capacity.

OR

Graduation from a regionally accredited two (2) year college with an associate degree in nursing and six (6) years of experience in professional nursing activities, two (2) of which were in a supervisory capacity.
